Índios fazem funcionário da FUNAI refém em MT (#Brasil) / Indians hold FUNAI official hostage in MT (#Brazil)

Índios caiapós mantêm refém um servidor da Funai (Fundação Nacional do Índio) em uma aldeia próxima ao município de Vila Rica (nordeste do Mato Grosso, na divisa com o Pará) para reivindicar ações do órgão na região.

A Funai enviou três servidores à aldeia Kapot Nhinore na segunda-feira (13) para apurar a explosão de um caminhão da fundação no dia 6. Segundo os índios, a explosão foi criminosa.
Dois desses servidores, que são indígenas, foram liberados para ir embora, mas o funcionário Manoel Aparecido Nunes de Melo, 42, foi feito refém.

A mulher dele, Fabrícia Batista da Silva, que trabalha na coordenação regional da Funai em Colíder (MT), disse que conversou com o marido via rádio na manhã desta terça.

Melo disse a ela que está amarrado, sem comer e beber --segundo Fabrícia, a coordenação avalia que Melo passa bem e deu essa informação a mando dos índios, para pressionar as negociações.

Segundo a assessoria de imprensa da Funai, os indígenas não aceitam a construção de duas pousadas na área.

O Instituto Raoni, organização que trabalha com índios da região, afirma que os caiapós cobram também a demarcação de terras e a volta do ex-coordenador regional, Megaron Txucarramãe, exonerado em outubro depois de ocupar o cargo desde 1995.

A Funai diz que tenta obter um helicóptero para negociar, com auxílio da Polícia Federal e do Ministério Público Federal. O transporte, segundo o órgão, é prejudicado pelo tempo chuvoso.

CASOS RECENTES

Em outubro de 2011, o presidente da Funai, Márcio Meira, foi feito refém por indígenas no Rio Grande do Sul.

Duas semanas depois, índios das etnias kayabi, apiacá e munduruku impediram a saída de funcionários da Funai e da EPE (Empresa de Pesquisa Energética) em uma aldeia indígena em Mato Grosso.

Kayapo Indians are holding a FUNAI (National Indian Foundation)  employee hostage in a village near the town of Vila Rica (north of Mato Grosso, on the border with Pará). This act is intended to claim this area of the region.

FUNAI sent three employees to the village kapot Nhinore on Monday (13) to investigate the explosion of a truck's foundation on day 6. According to the Indians, the explosion was criminal.
