As famílias retiradas da Ocupação São João, 628 – Centro de São Paulo- , na manhã desta quinta-feira (2), montaram barracos calçada, na Avenida São João, a poucos metros do imóvel de onde as família foram retiradas. A Favela do Kassab vai continuar até que a prefeitura cumpra a decisão judicial.
Families removed from the Occupation São João, 628 - in Downtown São Paulo, on the morning of Thursday (2), set up shacks on the sidewalk of São João Avenue, a few meters from the property where the family were removed from. The Favela Kassab will continue until the city complies with the ruling.
O promotor Maurício Ribeiro Lopes declarou que a Prefeitura de São Paulo desrespeitou uma decisão judicial que garantia moradia às famílias. A decisão de 17 de janeiro diz que a Prefeitura deveria dar “alojamento e abrigo aos moradores do prédio até a efetiva implantação de programa habitacional que garanta acesso à moradia de forma equitativa sob pena de multa diária de R$ 3 mil.”
The prosecutor Mauricio Ribeiro Lopes stated that the City of São Paulo breached a court order that guaranteed housing for the evicted families. The decision of January 17th stated that the City should provide "accommodation and shelter to residents of the building until effectively provided for by the city's housing program that ensures access to affordable housing. Durante a reintegração foi feita uma assembléia onde foi votado e ganhou por unanimidade que o terreno da Cracolândia que o Prefeito Gilberto Kassab quer oferecer ao Lula para construir um instituto seja doado aos sem-teto.
