O exagero dos deputados da Bancada Evangélica chega a ser engraçado, para não dizer ridículo, ante as demandas dos homoafetivos. Nesta semana, o deputado federal e pastor Marco Feliciano (PSC-SP) disse, em artigo publicado em seu site:
“Tal grupo (os homossexuais) representa uma minoria, não destas que sofrem de verdade, mas que sob uma camuflagem de perseguição, tenta e consegue impor seu modo de vida promíscuo, seus pensamentos anti-família e anti-bons-costumes (…) O que virá a seguir? Que Deus nos ajude! E nos ajude logo, antes que, esses fascistas, expulsem de uma vez Deus da nação brasileira, como buscam exterminar programações religiosas na TV”

Vou ignorar as falhas na argumentação do deputado, que normalmente carecem de ligação com a lógica e com os fatos. Vou ignorar que o Brasil é o líder do ranking mundial de mortes de homossexuais em crimes violentos e de natureza homofobia, e que esta discriminação é apenas a ponta de um iceberg de crimes de preconceito e de intolerância que não chegam à luz da justiça. Vou ignorar também o conceito de família do deputado (que também foi ignorado pelo STF ao aprovar a união homoafetiva) e de muitos fundamentalistas que se esquecem de atualizar seus conceitos morais para a atualidade, e que querem privar outros de fazê-lo. Vou ainda fazer vista grossa a utilização indevida do termo ‘fascista’ referindo-se a homossexuais, visto que os fascistas (com a conivência da grande maioria de instituições religiosas) mataram milhares de homossexuais durante a segunda guerra mundial (e ainda hoje), e seu espólio filosófico ainda inspira matadores de gays pelo Brasil.
Vou me ater apenas ao ponto central da argumentação de Feliciano: o medo de que os ‘homossexuais expulsem deus (e seus seguidores) do Brasil. A liberdade religiosa é uma clausula pétrea da Constituição Federal, que no artigo 5º, VI, estipula ser inviolável a liberdade de consciência e de crença, assegurando o livre exercício dos cultos religiosos e garantindo, na forma da lei, a proteção aos locais de culto e as suas liturgias.
Mesmo que um presidente homossexual (outro além da egodistônica Dilma Rousseff) assuma o poder, as liberdades religiosas estão garantidas. Mesmo porque, em nenhum momento, em nenhuma declaração pública, nenhum homossexual (que eu tenha registro) falou contra as liberdades religiosas, não importando a crença ou denominação. O problema é que muitas destas denominações não querem apenas viver suas ideologias, mas as impor sobre toda a sociedade, de forma autoritária e (aí sim) fascista. Não compete ao Estado ou a Constituição versar sobre o que é pecado e sobre os conceitos infundados de família que A ou B tenham criado, mas garantir os direitos humanos a todos, independente de crença, baseados na liberdade individual e no que há de mais moderno no mundo em relação a estes direitos.
Agora, os direitos dos homossexuais (inclusive de existir ou de morar no Brasil) podem ser ameaçados se um grupo fundamentalista assumir o poder. O medo tem de ser nosso e não dos evangélicos. O que garante que um presidente evangélico não possa ‘proibir relações entre pessoas do mesmo sexo’? O que garante que uma maioria absoluta no congresso não torne homossexualidade uma doença e o tratamento compulsório? Mesmo sem maioria, eles já querem fazer tal absurdo,através do projeto de lei do Deputado Federal João Campos (PSDB-GO), usando truques de lingüística simplistas chamando a cura de ‘tratamento’, sem buscar no dicionário o significado de ‘tratamento’.
O que nos garante que teremos direitos assegurados com uma maioria de fundamentalistas no poder, se hoje já não temos direitos respeitados? Como esperar que a discriminação contra LGBTs cesse, se não ensinarmos as gerações futuras a beleza da diversidade entre as pessoas? Sem a aprovação de um projeto que torne obrigatório o ensino de orientação sexual e identidade de gênero nas escolas públicas e particulares, obviamente adequadas a realidade pedagógica de cada jovem, nunca sairemos deste ciclo vicioso de homofobia e preconceito.
Como seus pensamentos em looping, os fundamentalistas querem que a existência dos homossexuais seja miserável, para poder então ‘curá-los’, aumentar seus rebanhos, e consequentemente seus lucros. Os LGTB seriam sempre discriminados por terem seus direitos (inclusive a vida) negados por pessoas que não aceitam a diversidade. E estas pessoas não aceitam ou compreendem a diversidade porque não forem EDUCADAS para tal, pois nem em casa ou escola ensinam isso.
A falta de coerência nos argumentos do Deputado Marcos Feliciano é aterradora, e a forma como ele tenta manipular as massas que o seguem também. O medo de perder direitos civis, de perder a dignidade, de perder o emprego, de perder o abrigo em casa, de perder os amigos, a família, de perder dentes, de ter ossos quebrados, de perder a vida em um beco de uma cidade qualquer, é NOSSO, deputado. Porque este medo real, e não hipotético, já faz parte do cotidiano de todos os gays, lésbicas, bissexuais, travestis e transexuais brasileiros.

The exaggerations voiced by the Evangelical Members of the bench comes close to being funny, if not ridiculous, compared to the demands of the gay community. This week, Congressman and pastor Marco Feliciano (PSC-SP) said in an article published on your site:
"This group (homosexuals) represents a minority, who do not truly suffer, but hide under a camouflage of persecution, and try to impose their promiscuous way of life and thoughts that are anti-family and anti-good-costums in nature(...) What comes next? God help us! And help us soon, before these fascists, manage to expel God from the Brazilian nation, by seeking to remove religious programming from public television."
I will ignore the flaws in the arguments presented by this Member, who typically lacks a clear connection with logic and facts. I'll ignore that Brazil is the leader in world in regard to the the number of deaths of homosexuals in violent crimes and due to homophobia, and that this discrimination is only the tip of the iceberg of crimes of prejudice and intolerance aimed at the gay community that do not reach the light of justice. I'll also ignore the concept of the family the member discussed and misrepesented in the manner he himself describes above (which was also ignored by the Supreme Court to approve gay marriage) and many fundamentalists who forget to update their moral concepts in light of today's society, and who want to deprive others of the privileges they themselves enjoy. I still condone the misuse of the term 'fascist' when referring to homosexuals, since the fascists (with the co-operation of the vast majority of religious institutions) killed (and still do) thousands of homosexuals during World War II, and his proclaimed philosophy still inspires killers of gays in Brazil.
I'll just stick to the central point of contention presented by Feliciano: the fear that 'gays will expel God (and his followers) from Brazil. Religious freedom is a clause that is entrenched by the Federal Constitution in Article 5, VI, which states that the freedom of conscience and belief is inviolable, thereby ensuring the free exercise of religious worship and also ensuring, as provided by law, the protection of places of worship and their liturgies.
Even if a homosexual President (other than the egodystonic Dilma Rousseff) assumes power, religious freedoms are guaranteed. Especially since, at any time in any public statement, no homosexual (I have this on record) spoke against religious freedoms, regardless of creed or denomination. The problem for some is that many of these individuals do not just want to live their ideologies, but want to impose them on the whole of society in an authoritarian and (then yes) fascist manner. Not for the State or the Constitution to determine what sin is or to consider the creations of concepts such as family A or B, but to ensure human rights are guaranteed for everyone regardless of belief. Human rights must be guaranteed based on individual freedom for all, which is how this is done in most of the modern the world.
Now, gay rights (including the right to exist or to live in Brazil) can be a threat to fundamentalist groups threatened to take power. Fear has to be ours and not that of the evangelicals. This guarantees that an evangelical president can not 'prohibit same-sex relationships'? This guarantees that an absolute majority in Congress does not make homosexuality an illness and compulsory for treatment? Even without a majority, they already want to initiate such nonsense, through the bill of Congressman John Fields (PSDB-GO), using linguistic tricks of drawing simplistic cure 'treatments, without seeking the exact dictionary meaning of the word 'treatment ' .
What assures us that we have rights that are guaranteed by a majority of fundamentalists in power, if today we no longer have those rights respected? How can you expect to cease discrimination against LGBT people, if we do not teach future generations the beauty of diversity among people? Without the approval of a project that mandates the teaching of sexual orientation and gender identity in public and private schools, we will never get out of this vicious cycle of homophobia and prejudice.
As his thoughts on looping, fundamentalists want the existence of homosexuals to be miserable, to 'cure' them, increase their herds, and therefore their profits.The LGTB would always be discriminated against by having their rights (including life) denied by people who do not accept diversity. And these people do not accept or understand diversity because they are not EDUCATED to do so, as this education takes place neither at home or within the school system.
The lack of consistency in the arguments of Mr Marcos Feliciano is terrifying; as is his attempt to try and manipulate the masses who follow him. The fear of losing civil rights, the dignity of losing, of losing their jobs, losing the shelter at home, losing friends, family, losing teeth, have broken bones, losing their lives in an alley of any city, he is OUR Deputy. Why this fear is real and not hypothetical, it is now part of everyday life for all gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered Brazilians.
