Um trabalhador da General
Motors, em São José dos Campos, morreu neste sábado, dia 24, vítima de um
acidente ocorrido dentro da fábrica. Ele foi prensado ao ser atingido por uma
ferramenta de 24 toneladas. Este é o segundo acidente fatal ocorrido na fábrica
em apenas três anos.
Antonio Teodoro Pereira Filho,
60 anos, trabalhava há 32 anos na montadora e morava em Jacareí. No momento do
acidente, ele estava realizando hora extra no setor Prensa – linha A. O
trabalhador foi encontrado, já desacordado, por volta das 9h, por companheiros
de linha e levado pelo resgate ao Pronto Socorro da Vila Industrial e
morreu após sofrer três paradas cardíacas.
Apesar da gravidade do acidente,
a GM não acionou a perícia técnica nem a CIPA (Comissão Interna de Prevenção de
Acidentes), contrariando as normas de segurança do trabalho. O Sindicato dos
Metalúrgicos de São José dos Campos está acompanhando o caso e aguarda a
perícia para registrar Boletim de Ocorrência no 1. Distrito Policial, nas próximas
horas.
De acordo com relato de
trabalhadores que encontraram Antonio Teodoro, ele estaria operando uma ponte
móvel, por meio de controle remoto. Uma ferramenta de 24,1 toneladas
“balançou”, atingiu Antonio e o lançou contra uma mesa de ferramentas. Com
isso, ele teve o corpo esmagado.
A GM vem adotando um sistema
regular de hora extra para compensar as demissões ocorridas nos últimos meses.
Com esta prática, a montadora reduz os custos com a mão de obra e aumenta a
produtividade.
Em 2009, o trabalhador Aparecido
Constantino morreu em acidente na GM também enquanto realizava hora
extra.
“Mais uma vez a GM foi
negligente. O ritmo de produção acelerado tem submetido os funcionários a
situações que colocam em risco a segurança dos trabalhadores. Vamos exigir que
a GM responda por mais esta tragédia”, afirma o presidente do Sindicato,
Vivaldo Moreira Araújo.

after suffering three cardiac arrests.
Despite the
severity of the accident, the GM has not triggered the technical response nor
the CIPA (Internal Commission for Accident Prevention), contrary to the rules
of safety. The Metalworkers Union of São José dos Campos is following the
case and is waiting for information to be released in a police report from the
local Police District in the coming hours.
According to
reports of workers who found Antonio Teodoro, he was operating a movable
bridge, via remote control. A tool weighing 24.1 tonnes hit Antonio and
threw him against a table of other tools and crushed his body.
GM has adopted a
regular system of overtime to compensate for the layoffs occurred in recent
months. With this practice, the company reduces the cost of labor and
increases productivity.
In 2009, the
worker Ali Constantine died in an accident while working at GM, also during an
overtime shift.
"Once again,
the GM was negligent. The pace of production has been accelerated and as a
result employees are subjected to situations that endanger the safety of
workers. We will demand that GM account for this tragedy,” says the
president of the Union, Vivaldo Moreira Araújo.
