Com a tragédia ainda em curso, e a quantidade colossal de sofismas e boatos propositalmente espalhados acerca do Pinheirinho, me dei ao trabalho de selecionar as dez piores mentiras - no sentido de superstição consciente e oportunamente utilizadas pelo Poder - que estão a pairar por aí sobre o tema. Vamos lá:

1. "Não houve violações, a reintegração de posse foi pacífica"

Eis a pior e mais primária de todas. Vídeos aos montes, fotos aos milhares,  além de relatos emocionados de testemunhas oculares - como o nosso Tsavkko - e de moradores - dados, inclusive, para a imprensa internacional - contradizem isso. A polícia não veio para brincar, com sua tropa de choque, suas balas de borracha e sua sede por violência. Atacaram uma comunidade formada por famílias - seus velhos, suas crianças, pessoas com necessidades especiais - e quem ficou no meio do caminho apanhou. Sobre eventuais distorções da nossa imprensa, convido à leitura do que pensa sobre isso o Guardian, um dos principais jornais do mundo.

2. "A culpa é dos moradores, por serem invasores e/ou por não terem negociado"

É a tese do varão da república (do café com leite) Elio Gaspari, devidamente rebatida pelo nosso João Telésforo. Acrescentamos ainda que o Brasil possui 22 milhões de vítimas do chamado "deficit habitacional" - o eufemismo contábil que expressa a quantidade daqueles que foram largados para morrer ao relento -, o Brasil possui uma Constituição que fala em função social da propriedade privada e em dignidade da pessoa humana, o Brasil possui uma jurisprudência que não aceita a inércia da administração pública como desculpa. para não realização de políticas públicas. Outra, não estar nem aí para um contingente de milhares de pessoas - só no caso do Pinheirinho - é uma decisão política sua, portanto, assuma o risco dela, mas esperar que essa gente simplesmente tenha de sentar e esperar a morte chegar, é pedir de mais - ou mesmo aceitar um xeque qualquer e enfie o rabo entre as pernas do lugar onde ela estão estabelecidos, só para, no fim das contas, realizar o fetiche dos credores da massa falida de um mega-especulador.

3. "Foi um processo duro, mas cumpriu-se a letra da lei"

  

Nem isso. Na manhã de domingo, quando ocorreu a invasão, havia um conflito de competência entre a Justiça Estadual e a Justiça Federal, portanto não havia ordem judicial que autorizasse realmente qualquer reintegração de posse. Mesmo se houvesse, uma ordem judicial não equivale a uma carta branca da polícia para fazer nada, tampouco ignorar os direitos ou as garantias daqueles cidadãos asseguradas pelas Constituição.

4. "Os moradores estão sendo atendidos devidamente" 

Os moradores do Pinheirinho, depois de perderem suas casas, estão amontoados em igrejas, ginásios ou quetais. Eles estão ao relento e identificados com uma pulseira azul - por que numa estrela azul logo de uma vez?

5. "Os policiais só cumpriram ordens"

Opa, tudo bem que militares obedecem ordens, mas isso não significa que, numa democracia, um oficial deva acatar irresponsavelmente uma ordem qualquer e executa-la da maneira que bem entende - com suscitou a secretária de justiça de São Paulo Eloisa Arruda -, do contrário, lhes seria autorizado atentar contra a ordem ("democrática"), o que seria uma hipótese absurda. É evidente que os maiores responsáveis por essa hecatombe são os senhores Geraldo Alckmin e Eduardo Cury - respectivamente governador do estado e prefeito municipal de São José dos Campos -, mas os oficiais que lideraram a missão tem sua parcela de responsabilidade nessa história sim.

6. "O Pinheirinho é uma espécie de Cracolândia" 

"Só se for no quesito da especulação imobiliária sobrepondo-se ao direito e à dignidade das classes pobres" como diria meu amigo joseense Rodrigo dos Reis. De resto, essa analogia - como foi utilizada pela Rede Globo - só duplica a perversão verificada no apoio à política de "dor e sofrimento", aplicada na região do centro de São Paulo chamada "Cracolândia" - um grave problema de saúde pública e de moradia, tratado à base de cacetete.

 

7. "O governo federal é culpado por ter politizado a situação"

Como testemunhamos na nota soltada pelo PSDB para "responder" o governo federal. Bom, nem vou perguntar como alguém poderia ter politizado uma situação que é política por natureza, mas como seria possível despolitiza-la. Ainda, é curioso como se responda ao quase silêncio do governo federal culpando-o por uma ação violenta que foi executada por dois governos seus, o estadual de São Paulo e o municipal de São José dos Campos. De novo, chuto o balde aqui: faça um, dois, um milhão de pinheirinhos, mas pelo menos assuma o que fez e não se ponha como vítima, as vítimas são os desabrigados.

8. "Os moradores do Pinheirinho são envolvidos com movimentos sociais radicais"

Membros do PSDB, como o pré-candidato paulistano Andrea Matarazzo, pensam o mesmo do correligionário Geraldo Alckmin, nem por isso alguém razoável defende que o governador seja arrancado à força do que quer que seja. No mais, o governador Alckmin ou os próceres da massa falida do Nahas na imprensa, deviam saber que vivemos numa democracia e as pessoas têm liberdade para se filiar ao grupo pacífico que bem entendem - nem na hipótese absurda de todos os moradores do Pinheirinho terem relação com o PSTU (que é como dizer que todos os moradores do bairro de Alckmin têm ligação com, p.ex. a opus dei), é fato que aquele partido jamais usou de força ou conluios no judiciário para desalojar um bairro inteiro, logo, quem é radical mesmo?

9. "O governo federal não podia ter feito, nem pode fazer, nada"

Podia sim, tanto que estava negociando uma saída pacífica, até que veio a invasão no domingo, uma boa dose de paralisia, uma comemoração de 25 de março com tucanos de alta plumagem e uma condenação vazia no recente fórum social mundial. Dizer que o Pinheirinho é Barbárie, até eu digo, Presidenta,  agora mandar hospitais de campanha do exército fornecer ajuda humanitária aos milhares de desabrigados, nem todo mundo pode - e mesmo vale para a construção de moradias dignas para eles no curto prazo. Importante: não estou nivelando tucanos a petistas, esse caso deixa claro que os primeiros não têm coragem de assumir o que fazem, enquanto os segundos não têm coragem de fazer aquilo que assumem - são papéis inteiramente diferentes.

10. "O Pinheirinho é uma catástrofe, estamos todos derrotados, não há nada o que fazer contra essa marcha invencível"

Toda marcha desse tipo, em seu interior, admite uma Leningrado - e eu não estou chamando tucanos de fascistas em um sentido histórico não, afinal, aqueles tinham coragem  moral de assumir o que faziam, isso foi só uma metáfora que guinadas reacionárias, por sua própria natureza, trazem consigo a possibilidade de sua derrota. No demais, não existe espaço para choradeira como colocou com precisão o Bruno Cava pelo papel que o Pinheirinho está cumprindo. Digo mais, repetindo o que já digo aqui o tempo todo: a favela é o locus definitivo de resistência daqueles que foram largados para morrer ao relento, é processo de luta, portanto, sua própria existência - e sua re-existência - é positividade pura. O antropofágico Pinheirinho, mais ainda. Derrota é a resignação, é sentar-se e aceitar morrer, nada disso aconteceu.

With the tragedy still in course and with the colossal amount of sophisms and hoaxes purposefully spread about Pinheirinho, I put myself through the trouble of selecting the top ten lies – in the sense of being superstitions consciously and opportunistically utilized by the Power – that are surrounding the theme. So let’s go:

1) “There were no violations, repossession was pacific”

Here is the worst and most primary of all lies. A great amount of videos, thousands of pictures, besides emotive reports given by various eyewitnesses – like our Tsavkko – and by the inhabitants themselves – even to the international press – contradict that. The police didn’t come in to play, with its riot troops, its rubber bullets and its thirst for violence. They attacked a community formed by families – an their old people, their children, their people with special needs – and whoever stood in their way was beaten up. As for the occasional distortions by our local press, I encourage reading what the Guardian, one of the most important newspapers in the world, thinks about it.

2. “It’s the residents’ fault, because they are invading and/or because they didn’t negotiate”

This is the thesis proposed by the baron of the (brazilian old) republic, Elio Gaspari, properly contested by our João Telésforo. We can add that Brazil has 22 million victims of the so-called “habitation deficit” – the accounting euphemism that tries to express the amount of people abandoned to die in open air. The Brazilian Constitution talks about the social purpose of the private property and the dignity of human beings, Brazil has jurisprudence in not accepting the inertia of public administration as an excuse not to fulfill public policies. Also, not caring the least bit about thousands of people – in the case of Pinheirinho alone – is your political decision, so assume its risk, but expecting these people to just sit and wait for death to come is just too much to ask – or even that they should just take a check andturn tail, leaving the place where they are already established, just to, at the end of the day, fulfill the fetish of the creditors of the bankruptcy process of a mega-speculator.

3. “It was a hard process, but the law was followed”

Not even that. That Sunday morning, when the invasion took place, there was a conflict of competences between State Justice and Federal Justice, therefore, there was no single court order actually authorizing the repossession. Even if there were, a court order is not a carte blanche allowing the police to do anything or to ignore those citizen’s rights and guaranties secured by the Constitution.

4. “The residents are being properly attended to”

The residents of Pinheirinho, after having lost their homes, are piled up in churches, gyms and places like that. They are homeless and identified by a blue bracelet – why not give them a blue star at once and for all?

5.“The police was just following orders”

Now, granted that the military has to follow orders, but that doesn’t mean that, in a democracy, an official must oblige irresponsibly and follow any order in any way he pleases – as proposes the secretary of justice in the state of Sao Paulo, Eloisa Arruda – otherwise, this would mean they are allowed to attempt against (democratic) order, which would be absurd. Its obvious that the two gentlemen Geraldo Alckmin and Eduardo Cury – the state governor and the mayor of São José dos Campos, respectively – are to be held accountable above all for this hecatomb, but the officials that leaded the mission do have their share of responsibility in this whole thing.

6.“Pinheirinho is a type of ‘Cracolândia’”

“Only if we’re talking about real state speculations winning over the rights and dignity of the poorer classes”, as my friend Rodrigo dos Reis, from São José dos Campos, would say. As for the rest, this analogy – brought forth by Globo TV network – only doubles the perversion verified in the support of the “pain and suffering” policy applied in the downtown area of Sao Paulo usually referred to as “Cracolândia” – a very serious public health and habitation issue dealt with by the use of police brutality.

7. “Federal government is guilty of having ‘politicized’ the situation”

As we can testify in the public note released by PSDB to “answer” the federal government. Well, I’m not even going to ask how someone could politicize a situation that is political by its very nature, but how it could be depoliticized. It’s also very curious that one could respond to the quasi silence of the federal government by blaming it for a violent action lead by their own governments, namely the state of São Paulo and the city of São José dos Campos. Again, I will go ahead and say: have one, two, one million pinheirinhos, but at least assume what you did and don’t act like you’re the victim. The homeless are the victims.

8. “The residents at Pinheirinho are involved with radical social movements”

Members of PSDB, like the pre-candidate to mayor’s office Andrea Matarazzo, think the same of his partisan Geraldo Alckmin, but no one is claiming he should be forced to quit whatever it is he is involved with. As for the rest, both governor Alckmin and the defenders of the Nahas’ bankruptcy estate in the media should know that we live in a democracy and that people are free to affiliate themselves with whatever pacific group they please – not even in the absurd hypothesis that every single resident of Pinheirinho is actually affiliated to PSTU (which would mean saying that every single resident in Alckmin’s neighborhood is a member of, let’s say, Opus Dei), it would be a fact that the party has ever used force or judicial maneuvers to dislodge an entire community, so, who’s the radical again?

9. “Federal government could not have and cannot do anything”

Yes it could, so much so it was negotiating a pacific removal, but then it came Sunday’s invasion, a good amount of lethargy, a January 25 celebration side by side with highly feathered toucans and an empty condemnation in the recent Forum Mundial Social. To state Pinheirinho is barbarism even I can do, Ms. President, now, to send military and humanitarian aid to the thousands of homeless, not just anyone can do – the same can be said in regard to decent housing for them in the short term. Important: I am not leveling PSDB and PT, this case makes it clear that the former doesn’t have the guts to assume responsibility for what it does while the later doesn’t have the guts to do what it assumes responsibility for – entirely different roles.

10. “Pinheirinho is a catastrophe, we’re all defeated, there’s nothing to do against this invincible march”

Every march of this kind admits within itself a Leningrad – and I’m not calling PSDB partisans fascists in a historical sense, after all, those had the moral courage of assuming what they did; fascist, here, is just a metaphor for the fact that reactionary turns, by their very nature, bring forth the possibility of their own defeat).Furthermore, there’s no room for lamenting the role Pinheirinho assumed, as Bruno Cava has already precisely pointed out. And I can add, repeating what I keep saying here all the time: the favela is the definitive locus of resistance by those left out to die in the open air, it’s a process of struggle, therefore, its very existence – and its re-existence – is pure positivity. Even more so in the case of the anthropophagic Pinheirinho. Defeat is resignation, is lying down and accepting death. None of that took place.
