SOS CHAPADA DOS GUIMARÃES
Neste exato momento uma das mais belas e preservadas áreas naturais da Chapada dos Guimarães em Mato Grosso vai começar a ser desmatada impiedosamente.
Trata-se da região do Morro do Japão, um local considerado sagrado pelos Budistas e de extrema importância ecológica e cênica pelos ecologistas e moradores da Chapada e Cuiabá. Em 2001 uma área de cerca de 2.300 hectares foi legalmente adquirida pela Associação Budista Terra da Paz, para ali instalar um Centro Ecumênico Mundial, um Centro de Conservação e Pesquisa sobre o Cerrado Brasileiro e também para implantar um Ritual Budista com pelo menos dois mil anos de existência que prevê a Circunvolução da Montanha Sagrada, uma prática espiritual onde pessoas de todos os credos e nacionalidades fazem uma caminhada meditativa em volta do Morro do Japão, identificado pelo Monge Budista Shogyo Gustavo Pinto, como uma importante montanha sagrada do ocidente. A caminhada e todas as práticas adotadas na “Terra da Paz” visam estabelecer a Paz Mundial e o Respeito e Equilíbrio com a natureza.
Depois destes 11 anos de contínuas atividades nesta área, inclusive com o estabelecimento de vários projetos de Restauração Ambiental, como a recuperação de mil hectares de pastagem artificial que foram convertidos novamente em um vigoroso Cerrado, a Justiça do estado do Mato Grosso entendeu que parte desta área pertence a outras pessoas e acaba de conceder o núcleo da Terra da Paz a terceiros, que já comunicaram que vão promover o imediato desmatamento e loteamento da área natural e de parte importante da área de restauração ambiental.
Portanto neste exato momento, a mais bela e preciosa área natural da Chapada, reconhecida mundialmente como local sagrado, uma das últimas áreas naturais da região e nas imediações do Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Guimarães e junto a APA- Área de Proteção Ambiental Estadual da Chapada dos Guimarães estará sendo destruída.

Right now one of the most beautiful and unspoiled natural areas of Chapada dos Guimarães in Mato Grosso will start to be cleared mercilessly.
This is the region of Morro Japan, a place considered sacred by Buddhists and extremely scenic and ecological importance by environmentalists and residents of the Plateau and Cuiabá. In 2001 an area of about 2,300 hectares were legally acquired by Terra Buddhist Association for Peace, there to install a World Ecumenical Center, a Center for Conservation and Research of the Brazilian Cerrado and also to deploy a Buddhist Ritual with at least two thousand years of existence that provides the circumambulation of the Montanha Sagrada, a spiritual practice where people of all faiths and nationalities do a walking meditation around Morro do Japão, identified by Buddhist Monk Shogyo Gustavo Pinto, an important sacred mountain of the west. The walk and all the practices adopted in the "Land of Peace" aimed at establishing World Peace and Respect and balance with nature.
After these 11 years of continuous activities in this area, including the establishment of various projects Environmental Restoration, as the recovery of hectares of artificial grassland were converted back into a vigorous Cerrado, a Justice of the state of Mato Grosso understood that part of this area belongs to other people and just gave e the core of the Terra da Paz to third parties, who have announced that they will immediately promote deforestation and blending the natural and important part of the area of environmental restoration.
