Ele era umas das lideranças ameaçadas de morte por lutar pelas efetivações dos direitos indígenas e justiça. Por essa razão, o Zezinho falava de forma repetitiva na assembleia Aty Guasu: “Estou lutando pela recuperação de nossa tekoha antiga Laranjeira Ñanderu, é para nossas crianças, por isso logo serei morto, eu sei disso. Mas vou lutar até morrer”.
O Zezinho como qualquer outro líder indígena guarani-kaiowá, e porta voz da Aty Guasu Guarani e Kaiowá, ao longo das últimas duas décadas, participou de todas as grandes assembleias Aty Guasu. Além disso, nos últimos cinco (5) anos, ele tem participado de várias audiências com todas as autoridades federais, reivindicando reiteradamente a devolução do território indígena Laranjeira Ñanderu, denunciando as violências e ameaças contra as indígenas, demandando os recursos para as áreas de saúde e educação escolar, etc.
Assim, quase todo o dia, Zezinho ia a pé e/ou de bicicleta atrás de autoridades municipal, estadual e federal para buscar soluções possíveis para as demandas da comunidade indígena da área em conflito. Por isso mesmo, ele é bem conhecido tanto pelas autoridades federais locais como pelas autoridades nacionais.
Pela última vez, no dia 25 de junho de 2012, o Zezinho saiu de bicicleta do acampamento em conflito Laranjeira Ñanderu para demandar o transporte escolar para crianças indígenas que andam diariamente 6 km para pegar o ônibus escolar municipal.
Durante o trajeto, o Zezinho foi atropelado e estava no hospital em Dourados desde 25/06/2012, em estado grave. O Zezinho, infelizmente não resistiu e morreu ontem (01/07/2012) às 16h00min, no hospital em Dourados/MS. Diante disso, é importante destacar que uma das preocupações e demandas do Zezinho é sobre o meio de transporte das lideranças dos territórios em conflito.
Várias vezes, ele reivindicava que “as Fundações Federais (FUNAI, FUNASA, etc.) responsáveis pela assistência e proteção dos Índios deveriam transportar nós lideranças das terras em conflitos. Nós corremos risco de vida andando a pé pela estrada, muitas lideranças já foram atropelados nas estradas”. Ele repetia essa frase.
Lembramos ainda que uma vez, na reunião da Aty Guasu, Zezinho falou: “é muito difícil conseguir carona com pessoal da FUNAI e FUNASA/SESAI, a gente pede e pede, mas parece que eles não gostam de transportar nós lideranças não, por isso, hoje vim a pé, andei um pouco e depois pequei carona, cheguei agora à reunião.”
A família extensa do Zezinho é originária do território tekoha guasu Laranjeira Ñanderu, ele nasceu nesse tekoha. Ele é casado tem dois filhos, quatro filhas e vários netos. O Zezinho, além de reivindicar o território antigo tekoha guasu Laranjeira Ñanderu, passou a ocupar a função importante de porta voz da Aty Guasu.
O Zezinho pregava, de modo similar a demais lideranças Guarani e Kaiowá, na grande assembleia aty guasu que: “nós lideranças guarani-kaiowá que lutamos pela recuperação dos nossos territórios antigos tekoha guasu “nós nunca devemos desistir de lutar pelo nosso tekoha e jamais abandonar nossos familiares e companheiros de luta”. “Até devemos morrer, se for preciso pela nossa tekoha guasu, para salvar muita vida e futuro de nossas crianças”, “mas abandonar a tekoha nunca, porque nos pertencemos ao nosso tekoha guasu”. Estas são também algumas frases que o líder Zezinho compartilhava e repetia com frequência.
É importante destacar que a porta voz e liderança indígena que luta especificamente pela terra antiga, na tradição e cultura do povo Guarani Kaiowá, é um cargo vital irrenunciável e imutável.
Baseado nisso o Zezinho com vida não deve abandonar o território antigo que ele reocupou com seu grupo de parentela e filhos (as), netos (os), porém o território antigo reocupado Laranjeira Ñanderu e os parentes foram abandonados fisicamente por Zezinho no dia 01/07/2012, por que foi atropelado de forma cruel, somente por isso Zezinho abandonou já sem vida o território tradicional tekoha guasu reocupado.
No sentido amplo, com máxima honra e profundo respeito, reconhecemos que o Zezinho morreu lutando pela terra e justiça, de modo igual às várias lideranças, tais como: Marçal, Dorival, Dorvalino, Xurite, Genivaldo, Rolindo Vera, Nisio Gomes, entre outros. Frente a esse fato cruel em que lutamos e sobrevivemos, mais uma vez, pedimos que seja investigado e punido o autor e mandante do crime.
Por fim, destacamos que a luta do Zezinho e das demais lideranças Guarani e Kaiowá assassinadas citadas acima continuam e continuarão para sempre. Nós todas as lideranças Guarani e Kaiowá podemos ser morto e/ou morremos, mas esta luta árdua pela recuperação dos territórios antigos não morrerá, por ser uma luta justa e digna que por essa razão a luta justa do ZEZINHO é e será uma luta vital, forte e infinita.
